Our Team

Dr. Katy Richard Owens grew up in a bilingual Cuban-American family in Crosby, Texas. Being a resident of Huffman, she saw the need for a new optometry clinic capable of providing the same level of professional eye care available in more populous areas. After being in the field for 9 years she decided it was time to open her own optometry practice and Vista Eye Center was born. Her interest is in the treatment of dry eye disease and specialty contact lenses to help improve a patient’s quality of life. 

Ashley is a Hargrave High School graduate and long time resident of Huffman. She started her career as a certified cosmetologist, then vet tech, and then to become an optometric assistant. Ashley joined the Vista team in August 2021 and worked her way up to Clinical Coordinator. She ensures daily operations run smoothly for everyone. She enjoys getting to care for those she has grown up knowing and meeting new people. 

Samantha grew up in Kingwood, TX. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin, she started working in an eye care clinic managing the day to day operations building a successful practice. She came to Vista Eye Center with 8 years experience in customer service, optical sales, and optical laboratory technician. She enjoys getting to know patients’ lifestyles and hobbies to better help in frame styling. 

Mindy is from Orange, TX and has been living the in Huffman-Crosby area for 4 years. She joined our team with 20 years experience in optometric practices. You can find Mindy greeting patients and performing pretests for Dr. Owens. Mindy likes the outdoors and to go buggy riding. She enjoys working with people and learning more skills.
